'67 or anyone else that has a spare, loose '67-'68 signal switch, if you have your turn signal switch out, could you take a look at it and tell me what holds the hazard switch button in the "in" position when you push the button? I have mine installed now, but when I push in the chrome hazard button in, it won't stay in. It's spring loaded to push out and it worked ok before I removed it.

In the picture below, the arrow points to a black plunger which moves toward the center of the steering column. I drew in the hazard button so you could see what I'm talking about. Thanks for any help, I really don't want to have to buy a new switch. :beer

Oh well....guess I'm going to have to drill out those 3 tiny aluminum rivets that hold the two halves of that clear switch case together and do some exploratory surgery to find out what's going on in there. To have to replace that whole stinkin switch is a major PIA! :mad

I don't really know, but if I had to guess, I'd guess a spring loaded ball bearing from one side into a depression or groove in the knob shaft, or a similar spring loaded ball in the shaft itself pressing into a groove in the bore.

67heaven: how do you get yourself in and out of the position shown in your picture?

'67, your car looks beautiful. I remember when my '57 came right out of the paint shop. It took me a YEAR to reassemble without scratching it! :L :L
