A few months ago, we had discussed to prospects of Carbon Fiber fuel rail covers for the SNAT's. After talking at length w/ the good folks up in Old Lyme, it has come to light that 3 different designs would be needed - a bigger proposition than I had imagined :eek

Well, They are still in the works - I got word yesterday on that :upthumbs

Also in the works, I provided some exhaust for R&D work on the Callaway "Flange-Back" Megaphones.
These Meg's would be an upgrade for earlier cars and an easy replacement performance part for others.
While not quite to the extreme of the "McArdle exhaust" w/ meg's, this setup would require the removal of two flange bolts and one hanging bracket bolt, sliding the old off - placing the new on, and reversiing the process :cool

The new megs would be 2.5" and as we all know, will sound awesome!

I am certainly interested in both components - the covers for the SNAT and exhaust for the B2K and hopefully many more will be as well! If there is enough demand, it may even make its way intothe C4 catalog from Callaway Cars :cool

Enjoy! :m

I'm anxiously awaiting the carbon fibre fuel rails and I can attest to the look and the sound of the Megaphones.

SWEET!...

Callaway Rules! :upthumbs

I swear, any of you that get the megaphones will be very happy with them, though even happier with a McArdle Exhaust© :D

I know a secret...

... but I ain't telling! ;)

I'm anxiously awaiting the results of the exhaust R&D. Although the McArdle Exhaust© is a work of art the flange back may be in my future from a budgetary standpoint. It will have the look and most of the sound for less $$. I'm hoping there will be enough volume on this piece to allow Callaway to offer it at an attractive (i.e.- competitive) price point. Read that to mean we need to show some interest in this piece! And I don't want to hear any, "I could have any muffler shop fab that piece for me", because that's just not true.

Kevin, you are 110% correct!!!

Callaway's tig welding is top notch - crafted by the Gods :cool Look at some of the wook in the past - the McArdle Exhaust©, some of the turbo plumbing welds, etc. NO local welding shop I have come across has produced items such as these - If the interest is shown, my hope too is that the price then will fall into a cometitive margin :cool

If you have a Callaway with the older (either smaller diameter or the non-stainless) Megaphones, these would be a perfect replacement and will work on ANY 1987 - 1991 B2K from the mid pipe (where the cat was on 87's or pipe on 88+) back and be a simple bolt on at home.

Kevin, Thanks for your interest in these :v :m

I had a thought... don't certain years have three bolt flanges and others have two? I'll need to look that up when I get home.

Kevin, the 84 and 85 had a 4 bolt rectangled flange while the 86+ Vettes used the rolled end flange w/ the two bolt oval to retain the rear "y" pipe to the cat.

Hope this helps :m CC.

Yes it does.

Thanks to the resident C4 expert. I could not remember the specifics just that there are two versions. When I got my current y-pipe I had to go with the two bolt and have it modified to fit a three bolt flange. My center section is not stock.

...curiousity has peaked - what type of center section is used on your car?? :D

It's a single 3" pipe but it has an aftermarket high flow cat that is bolt in/out and an "optional off road test pipe" that fits in it's place... um, off road... yeah, that's it... :ugh

Kevin, doesn't your car have the two small(er) cats up front, right off the turbochargers??

Like this one:

No it does not. Perhaps it did when new as it was one of the first sold in CA.

Progress is being made on this - Hope to have this by Spring on my own car :cool

Love the sound of the Megaphones - and with the new (larger diamerter) rear y-pipe, it will not only install w/ greater ease - but also an improvement in flow :cool

...stay tuned
