Just wondering if some of you guys could help me out with a few things.

1) Any way to improve gas mileage? My average is 13.5 MPG. Is that normal? Had a camaro with 350 in it, and it had WAY better gas mileage on it. Just wondering if it's normal, or if something is up that could be causing me to suck up a little extra?

2) Any idea on what kind of wheels look good on C4's? I've been searching non stop for wheels that will fit & look good on my car, but am having a hard time. I'm putting my car away in october to have a little fun with it. Thought a nice set of chrome wheels would look good with the new paint job?

3) Could you recomend any good sites for interior restoration/replacement? Looking to change my interior from red to gray, and looking for a good company to go through.

Thanks!:cool

You ask if it is normal to get 13.5 mpg from your '84, but you don't say if that mileage is highway miles or around town, i.e., stop-and-go traffic. Either way it's not the best you could get, but it's close for in-town driving. Highway mileage should be much more though; somewhere in the low to mid-twenties. Has it been tuned lately? Fuel filter and air filter are both clean? Tire pressures are correct? (It affects mileage you know ;)) What are your driving habits? That is, do you have a lead foot when leaving stop signs and red lights - are you in competition with other traffic? All of this will have a pronounced affect on your vehicle's mileage.

Wheels are a matter of personal taste. I personally, would never own another set of three-piece wheels; they are just too darned hard to clean! I had a good-looking set of polished Gottis on mine for a few years, but finally ditched them for a set of Borbets that I got through The Tire Rack, one of our affiliates here at the Corvette Action Center. Chrome looks good, check 'em out and see what they have. They have a wide range from which to choose, and will mount and balance tires if you're in the market for them as well, then all you gotta do is mount 'em on your car. :D

Interior pieces are easily obtainable through one of the aftermarket suppliers, such as Mid America Designs and Corvette Central. I have done a lot of shopping with Corvette Central and have not had any problems, but everybody has their favorite. Check our listings in the Portal tab found at the top of every page. :upthumbs

Thanks for the reply. It is all city driving. Not heavy on the gas that much, as I'm afraid to hurt it still. Haven't even made the first car payment, so I'm taking it easy & babying it a little. LOL! I'm flushing the fluids & giving a tune-up next week when I have the time. I guess I'll see then if it makes a differance?

Those sites look pretty good! Just what I was looking for. Thanks!

When you check things like the air filter, and it comes time for a replacement, spend the extra bucks and buy a K&N filter (I use their Performance Gold® oil filters too. ;)); it's money well-spent. Not only should it help with your gas mileage, your performance will improve somewhat as well. :upthumbs

Freak; I get over 30MPG on the highway (does yours have the instant mileage gauge? Not sure on 84's) and I like my factory sawblades.

Yeah, you can choose for it to display the average or current mpg.:D

Hmmm....

Well... I got a tune-up/new fluids, and the car is running alot better. Sad thing is, the gas mileage hasn't improved. Was getting 13.5-14 on average before, and am now getting a constant 12.7. I even took it easy on the gas for the past week, and nothing good has come out of it. Any suggestions on other things it could be? Also... I here a clicking type sound comming from I believe the fuel injector. Could that be a bad sign? Thanks!:)
