Corvette is one of only 2 cars that come from the factory with Mobil 1, It's a great oil, I'd use that if I were you.......

Per the Mobil 1 web site: "It's "factory fill" in Chevrolet Corvette, all Porsches, Mercedes-Benz AMG models, Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang Cobra R and all Aston Martin cars. "

tom..

Royal Purple is also a good Syn. oil to use.

Mobil 1...Always. Good enough for the factory and every Corvette owner I've met, good enough for me. :)

was mobil -1 oil installed in a 1990 corvette out of the factory?

Mobil 1

I have an 86 Vette that I bought with 95,000 miles. It runs strong and does not use any oil

I was worried about using a synthetic, but I tried Mobil ! 10w30 and there have been NO problems...no leaks, no drips...and I get well over 20 mpg all the time...

Mobil 1 has not always come in vettes from the factory, but I don't know where the breakpoint is. If your car didn't come with it from the factory, I'd advise against using a synthetic oil like Mobil 1 because they can leak through previously good seals.

FWIW.

Oil?

Amzoil is great, Mobil 1 is great. Any 100% synthetic is going to be a superior lubricant over the regular stuff. I run pure synthetic in the transmission also, Amzoil got it. I also run with K&N filters or Napa Gold.

Actually the following list is all the vehicles that come from the factory with Mobil 1 oil in thier crankcase..
Chevrolet Corvette
All Porsche vehicles
Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles
Dodge Viper
Ford Mustang Cobra R
All Aston Martin cars

MYTH: Mobil 1 will leak out of the seals of older cars.

Mobil 1 does not cause leaks. In fact, new Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ was tested in dozens of industry standard and OEM tests to prove its seal performance. It is fully compatible with the elastomeric materials from which all automotive seals and gaskets are made.

ExxonMobil engineers are wary of conventional oils that tout their use of additional seal-swelling agents. With extended use, these agents can over-soften engine seals, resulting in leaks. More to the point, an oil additive will not rejuvenate worn or damaged seals. The damaged seal may have been caused by a worn rotating metal component in the engine.

If an older engine is in good condition and does not have oil leaks, Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ provides the same advantages as when used in a new engine. ExxonMobil recommends taking measures to repair the leaks, then using Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™. ExxonMobil also always recommends following the automobile manufacturer's manual for the proper oil to use.

"Make your own judgement"

I use Mobil 1 synthetic on mine. I was using a Mobil 1 high efficiency oil filter but switched to K&N because K&N is kept in stock.
