Underhood temps, pre-, and post- Hookers install?

So readin' Go_Vettes' thread here got me to thinkin' (see the smoke :L)...

Tomorrow I'm gonna' put in some Hooker Super Comp Shorties, with glass wrap, and now I'm thinkin' some more (dang it hurts doin that too)... I got a little infrared thermometer, and wanna know how we can get good before and after readings, with stock manifolds, then with the bare Shorties, then with wrapped Shorties, but each time the FAN will be cyclin' on and off for cooling (I'll snap bunches of pics too; anybody wanna' see this?)

Ideas?

Im interested! Sounds like a great idea! I love seeing before and after stuff!

Ideas:

Take the temp of the inside and outside of the hood itself (car in shade)

Get the temp of the air intake box

Thats all I can think of right now... Cannot wait for results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, let me know how the install goes...:cool

My parade got dumped on yup WAH. Install = FAIL! ad

Fuel pump went belly up on my little Jimmy when headed for Advance / Zone, to get some bolts for the header - cat connector both sides... Maybe the pump lost power, or the pump relay/fuse needs some butter (cause it's toast?). I was able to coast right into a parking slot at the local library. ad

What a pisser. Did a dry fit passenger side, and had some alignment issues, but what do you expect for $75? They came from a CF'er, who got them from another CF'er, and so on, supposedly... Just a few pics here. Got some temperatures off of underhood stuff too after a timed warm-up, before I got a wrench on. Doesn't tell much, except for some 'before' readings.

More later, after the pump fix (how 'bout that 'header spreader' technique?)

Anybody ever wrap shorties with glass wrap???
