My friend now wants to upgrade his 1990's exhaust. He just bought some TPIS headers for the car but also wants to upgrade from there back. I've seen LT-1/LT-5 dual back systems would these be a good upgrade and work well with his headers?

What about the cat converters? this vette has 3 so emmisions wise how does he get around that? Lets hear about your exhaust upgrades and what they have done for the car. This car is also getting a TPIS big mouth intake, SLP runners, 58mm throttlebody, ported plenum, TPIS air cleaner setup. aside from this the vette is stock.

Any ideas on power gains from these add ons that he is doing? oh and this is a 6speed car if it presents unforseen exhaust issues.

One other quik question ... Will LT-1 TPIS headers bolt up to his L-98 and clear everything to make a LT-1/LT-5 exhaust boltup easier? TPIS says LT-1 header same as L-98's but don't state in the LT-1's are emmisions headers. this car has air injection so do the LT-1 coated headers have air injection and EGR feed tube like the L-98's

The LT cars have more of a dual like exhaust system than the L98.

The stock L98 mufflers are horrible, you get no rumble and they flow very poorly. I believe they just flow out of one outlet on the mufflers themselves. There are a lot of exhaust systems out there that will take care of the flow problem. The issues you really have to address are the sound you desire and the budget.

As for the header questions, I would call TPIS themselves. I've heard they are quite helpful.

Thanks anyways. He just bought TPIS ceramic coated long tubes a Y-pipe and TPIS catback system for the car.

The TPIS catback, I believe, is a modified Flowmaster system with larger inlets and outlets. It is very loud!:ohnoes
