Can anyone point me in the direction for a replacement headlight vacuum storage canister?? Parts vendors I've called told me it's discontinued...My lines are T'ed together and lights are slow to rise,
Thanks ,Neal

1st of all welcome to CAC!!!!!
I'm surprised none of the corvette parts houses carry them ,as they all have them!!!!!!
try contemporary corvette in bristol pa
they are just south of Philly
they have a lot of used corvette parts!

They have the part listed ..but its been discontinued ....does the can or lack of one effect the speed of the lights opening and closing? or is it just used for when the engine is off ? My lights go up slowly 1st right side then left !
And thak you for the welcome!!!

Mine don't go up together either, one then the other, and they go down the same way,one at a time.I don't know how 'slow' they are.
I just guessed that's the way it is.
somebody at one point did have the intake off of my engine, for what ever reason.I do plan within the next few years to go through and rebuild the engine and tranny and have the rear looked at...
I don't think the rear needs to be rebuilt but it does need new seals!!!

As far as I know the can is used for when the engine is off. If your lights go up slowly when the engine is on and idling (high vacuum) you have a leak somewhere.

The can is only a reserve and allows you to cycle the lights a time or two without engine vacuum. No real effect on how quickly/slowly the lights raise or lower, although response is usually a little better with the engine running.

Slow/fast notwithstanding, if both lights raise and lower in unison, you're probably okay.

If both lights raise/lower okay and one is a little faster up or down than the other, you're probably okay.

Not raising or not lowering indicates a problem, usually the relay, but sometimes the individual actuator.

:)

OK Thanks for the quick replies ...guess I'm gonna be playing with the actuators once this Nor'easter stops.
