Valve cover emblem

Edmond, the tall covers have a problem with fit on the drivers side rear. The wiper motor interfers. I had tall covers on my and cracked the wiper motor housing. I went back to the short ones. As stated , the 2 part epoxy will work and they do sell the paint to redo the original cover to stock.

Well it looks like I will be getting that two part apoxy. I will most likely just repaint mine.

Thanks for that info, now I know that I can't get those covers. I may stick with the stock covers myself. I forgot if my emblem is still on there or not.

I really like the stock look on my corvette. Modified is alright too, most people prefer either one. However when I open the hood, I want most everyone to think it is a stock L98 :D

So what paint do I need? Yes I know the colors, but what colors are they specifically. I dont want to paint it then find out the colors dont match. Lord knows how many different variations of red there are.

Has anyone here stripped the covers to repaint them? I'm fixin to do that and would like to know what NOT to do.

Luckily, when I bought the car, the previous owner was kind enough to get a brand new spankin clean and shiney emblem to put on after I refinish them.

I'm curious to know what to do as well.

The engine builder bead blasted my parts. He then painted them. He blasted the vavle cover without the emblem, and then painted it. It looks pretty good. I guess if you strip them, painting them is no problem. They sell the vavle cover paint, but I think he just went with a gray to match the other parts he is painting.

Anyone have any idea on which Red I should get, or what kind of paint I should get to paint this emblem?
