So, from what I've heard, I need new valve covers if I get roller rockers (full roller, that is; not just roller-tip). What size covers do I need?

Joe,

Stock covers probably won't work, but I have 1.5 rollers and I'm using the Edelbrock Elite Series valve covers with no problems. I'll be switching to the Aluminum competition bowtie covers soon which are 3 1/8" tall. I mistakenly purchased a set of tall covers, they would have been fine if I had stud girdles but they were just way too big.

Hi

If you are really set on using the original valve covers you can buy spacers which will give you the clearence for the roller rockers and retain the stock look. I vaugely remember seeing them in a Jegs catalog some time ago.

Like Scott I eventually decided to go with Edelbrock but have kept the originals.

J.
