Hello everyone, I am back with another dumb question. When I start up my vette, I get this pump-like noise from over behind the glovebox. It sounds like the the little air pumps people use for their fishtanks but bigger, kinda like a fast put-put noise. I was thinking that it was something to do with the AC system, but the noise stays there even if the AC switch is off or on vent. So, my question to the forum gurus is, what is this noise and how do I fix it? Thank you all.

You're right, behind the glovebox is the vent/airco system. Please check if the noise is still there if you turn the vent system off and to be certain, disconnect the mass from the ventilation motor (under the right side fender against the firewall). It could be something is trapped inside the vent system and is just touching your ventilation rotor.

How about a mouse nest inside the blower motor????:ohnoes:ohnoes

had a similar problem in my '81
replace the blower motor .. like $30
btw.. the blower never really 'shuts off'
