VIN number help!!

My friend next door has a 74 coupe with a big block in it. I can tell the engine has been removed at one point. Trying to figure out if this is the correct block for this car. The vin# is 1Z37Z4S417181 on the pillar post. On the block it reads T0123CWR 14S417181. Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

The 'Z' in the VIN indicates that car was born with an LS4 (454/270HP) engine.

The T0123CWR translates to:

T= Tonawanda NY engine plant. All Corvette big block engines came from that plant
0123= January 23, the engine's assembly date
CWR= assembly code for 1974 Corvette LS4 454/270 with Turbohydramatic transmission

14S417181 = a derivative of the car's VIN.

Car serial number 17181 was assembled around February 9, 1974 so an engine assembled January 23 would be very typical.
