“Chrysler Group confirms that its Conner Avenue Assembly Plant will be down, beginning the week of April 14,” said spokeswoman Jodi Tinson in an email to The Detroit News. “Production will resume the week of June 23. Ninety-one UAW-represented employees will be laid off during this time.”

Chrysler only sold 591 Vipers last year and 91 in the first two months of this year.

Fiat sold 591 Vipers last year and just 91 this year, and they are still planning on a 2015 model? Even if the vehicle was pure profit (which it obviously is not) that would be hard to justify. More power to them I guess......:)

BTW, I drove behind a black SRT Viper just yesterday and it looked low and about 14 feet wide, great profile from the rear.

Technically, it's "FCA" sold 591 Vipers last year and just 91 this year....

Just saying that they make the Viper may be enough to justify production to FCA. Halo vehicles are good PR if they are good cars also.

Never had the change to drive or even ride in one. Talked with a few owners of older Vipers and was told they were a kick to drive - around town and at the track - but they were awful for long distance cruises. Hope the new ones are better in this respect.
