Ordered new alternator and water pump belts from Paragon. The alt belts a no brainer but the water pump belt seems a bit short. Confirmed the catalog and appears to be correct. How do I get it over the rim of the WP pulley. I just dont see how its going to fit but then again it has to fit tight once you get it there becuase theres no way to tighten the belt once it on both pulleys..
Any thoughts..

Jim

You need to remove the fan and WP pulley bolts. Put the belt over the crank pulley and the loose WP pulley, then bolt it all back up.

pws69,
Thanks, I've only taken off and put back on that clutch and fan about 4 times. Sounds like a plan.

:ugh Yup... on my 69 big block: been there-done that- got the lumps. Makes you wonder what the idler pulley was really for!
