Just got the water pump back from rebuild from those guys in NY. Excellent work. The problem now it after putting it all back togather the water pump pulley seems to be just barely hitting the crank pulley and a small squeak sqeak, will ensue. I powder coated the pulleys when they were off. But it seems they should have more clearance than that?

Any ideas?

If the OD of the pulleys are actually touching each other, are you sure you have the correct pair of pulleys?

I just sent the water pump pulley off for powder coating that was it. Didnt even take the crank pulley off.

Perhaps they sent you the wrong pulley, there should not be any tolerance issues.

Best regards,
Gerry

Agreed. If the pulleys weren't hitting before, there should be no reason they should touch now, probably have the wrong pulley.

My guess!
