Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Question: What do you recommend for cleaning a engine(internal) without taking it apart.

Any public form of information should be considered just that, public. Take the good with the bad. For CAC, the good far out weighs the bad.

Keep in mind, most information is posted with good intent. That being said, someone that is using these boards for infomration should do some research of there own to further confirm suggestions made.

Agreed. Its to the point that even trying to help out... (regardless of website)... you get shot down by a "know it all".
Use this place for refrence and do homework, there is great info here.....

Hey thanks for the advice, STEAM! Yea dude never thought of that, thanks again everybody!
Nick, you need to be aware that some people will take advantage of your lack of knowledge. Steam your engine inside? Why not just add a can of laxative to the oil? AS Hib said, real fact gets mixed with real BS. GM service bulletins, available on CAC, do not approve of cleaners for injectors, or anywhere inside the engine, and say they will damage the injectors. And, anyone who would mix trans oil in a Corvette engine is not thinking clearly. Also, airplane engine manufacturers -whose powerplants run under more severe conditions than your Vette- say that oil additives are really negatives, worthless.
Lastly, try to explain to yourself why you "need" the inside of the engine cleaned. I like my 91, but I don't love it; it isn't a baby, it's a machine.
saludos, joe
