i opened up the felpro cam change gasket kit i ordered and found a gasket that i wasnt sure what it was.

any ideas? the summit page says it is a water outlet gasket. does that mean that it is some wierd thermostat gasket?

Sorry there, Bax- I haven't seen that gasket since about '85.

Back in the days Chevy was building 366 and 427 BB trucks, the 60, 65, and 70 series trucks had dual thermostats. That's the gasket.:beer

i see, so its kinda of a univeral kit.
i still dont know exactly what head and cams i am going to get but i figured i would start getting together the support stuff for the swap.

I agree!!:thumb:thumb:thumbYou may find other things that won't be used on your application too!!:D:D:D

My thinking is that most gasket kits are pretty universal. I'd be careful about what kit you buy- it'd be kind of a waste to get a top engine kit with intake and head gaskets and then find out you need a different type of gasket. I usually end up buying application specific gaskets for everything-

i saw the kit that had everything. i figured that the heads would recommend the specifc gaskets it needed so i got the felpro kit that had intake, timing cover, water pump, etc
the basic gaskets that will be needed for the reinstall of the standard oem stuff

if it's a universal kit. it looks like it might go to the throttle body on a lt1 or lt4.
