What kind of mods to put a lt1 intake on an l98 with tpi?

I haven't done this, so take this for what it's worth. I believe that the manifold will physically fit as it is, the "gotcha" is the LT1 manifold has no provision for the typical distributor. It must be machined for this provision. I guess there are guys around who can do it, but I will not venture a guess as to the cost. As I understand it is a worthwhile modification as the LT1 manifold will breath way better than the L98.

manifold fits on perfectly, NONE of the manifold/cyl head bolt holes line up... l98 injectors/ throttlebod/ chip/ dizzy-- fit/work great...need a hole for the dizzy, water outlets, manifold/cyl head holes, remote thermostat, relocate lt1 egr.

lt1 intake makes 'er feel like a totally new car, any variant of ''tuned port intake'' falls far short.

I stand corrected, as I stated in my first post, I've never done this, just heard about it being done. (And heard it was worth the effort)

Super Ram intake vs LT1 intake?

Here is the link: www.lt1intake.com

It's basically a MiniRam that took some fitting to get on.

I have the opportunity to pruchase a super ram system for around $1500. The system is complete: The accel base, runners, upper plenum, Holley 1000cfm throttle body, K&N air intake, 30 lb bosch fuel injectors, fuel rail, adjustable fuel pressure regulator from crane, HEI distributor with taylor wires, thermostat and housing, and ecm with programed prom, and all the hardware for installation.

What do you think about the ram vs the lt1 intake? Lt1 is saving a grand, but is there a big difference between the two to justify the price difference? I will purchase the ram if it is well worth the dollar spent.

Thanks

The thing about the LT1 conversion is that it's a one piece unit whereas the SR is a multiple piece.

From what I've read, the SR can be a bear to install.

Which unit you get will depend on auto/manual, gears, cam and intentions of use.
