my first vette

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome to your group. I can still drive my 'Vette better than I can drive these posts and whatnot. I have never been so proud to possess such a remarkable, nay, incredible piece of artwork than this vehicle. I have never felt more American before in my life. Thanks to God, my Mom, Chevrolet, and of course, Apple Pie, hahaha. Heaven on earth is truly found through driving a Corvette.:beer Be safe, be healthy, spin tires, and melt the freakin' asphalt. Don't let the cops catch ya' unless you are one!!!

thanks

Thank you. It is a total blast to drive.

Welcome to the CAC and congrats on your new Vette!

Enjoy!

Hello everybody. I finally got one, yes a Corvette. I'm 36 now and I've wanted a 'Vette since I was able to walk. I have just purchased a 1996 CE that is in immaculate condition. It's real. I was wondering how I could tell from the vin which number my vette was made off the assembly line, or does it really matter.

RVN has givin' ya the link:)And if ya wanted to know then it does matter.:DWelome

Nothin' like a dream come true.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy !!!! :beer

Welcome to the :CAC and Corvette ownership!! Congrats on your first!

You've just joined the best Corvette community on the web! :upthumbs

RVN provided a link to the 1996 Model index page. That's a great resource for learning about your '96. Let me go a step further and provide a couple more links:
this link will take you to the '96 Identification page where you can interpret your VIN tag. Click. The last 6 digits indicate your Vette's production number.

Another step you can take toward learning more about your Corvette specifically is to order a reproduction Window Sticker and Buildsheet from the National Corvette Museum. The webpage for ordering information is located here (Click). On that same page you can also order a Dealer brochure for your model year.

One more useful link would be the Site Help and Feedback Forum. There are many threads in that forum addressing a variety of subjects and issues sometimes experienced by new members.

Again, congrats on your first Corvette! I recall how excited I was when I purchased my first one and I'm certain it's a universal feeling among all new owners. ;)

Don't forget to WAVE!

Welcome aboard! CAC is a really neat place with good people.

BTW the last 5 digits if the VIN indicate the order off the assembly line, mine is an early 94 03386

cool! its about time right.... i was 34 when i got my first vette and i'll be 36 in less than a month, like you i had wanted one of these since i was old enough to walk, as did my father, he got his first vette a little over a year ago and he waited till he was 61..... there was NO WAY i was waiting till i was that old to get one! :D
