Hi Guys,

I found this temperature controller on my 84 Coupe, just wondering what it is exactly and why someone would have put it on.

I would like to put it back to normal, what would I need to look for.
I wouldn't like to put a hole in every new radiator that goes in, looks crap.

Also added a couple of photos showing the Right Hnad Drive Conversion, tight fit hey!

Perhaps it turns the fan on at lower temperature? Should just have sensor in radiator.

How long ago was the right hand conversion done?

Yes, I had a bit of a play around in the engine bay this arvo.
The switch is connected to a probe and it controls the thermo fan.

I took the radiator out and it needs an overhaul or maybe just a replacement.
I took the O/D cooler lines off the radiator and some Bubba Gump has used vice grips to take the lines on and off on the bottom line.

Lucky there was a set in Melbourne, it just annoys me when some can't be bothered to use proper pipe wrenches :mad

When I took the line off, I expected transmission fluid, I got gear oil....looks like the 4+3 is coming out now....I was trying to put it off. :ugh

The right hand drive conversion was done in 1995 when it came to Australia, so she was 11 years old.

I figured the conversion had to be a long time ago. Sounds like you have a little;) more work to do.
Nice C4!

So Bubba has relatives all over the world? :happyanim:
The original fan switch turned the fans on at 238 F :eyerole and used a mushroom type of connector. It was a single pin push on connector.
You squeezed the connector with your thumb and finger to release the connector. On TPI engines the connector was the same as the knock sensor connector. Not sure about your TBI. :D
