What tool and what size?

I ordered one of the low temperature fan switches from Eckler's; I have a 91 without the booster fan option; I haven't received the kit in the mail yet, however there is a metal plug that needs to be removed between the number 1 & 3 cylinders on the driver's side in order to screw in the sensor, and then wire it to the fan relays accordingly. I though I was going to be able to remove it with a standard 3/8 extension form my socket set, however it is too big; does anyone know which kind of tool, and what size is needed to remove this plug? It may say it in the instruction when it arrives, however I was just curious in advance, and their websites' instructions just says to remove the plug......

Thanks, Chris.

Chris,

I am not positive, but I think it is a 13/16" 12 point. It will require a deep well socket.

If you don't mi nd me asking, how much was the part from Eklers? Thanks.

Like a larger, standard spark plug socket.

It was $34.99 plus shipping; the plug I am referring to is not like the one between the #6 & #8 cylinders; you can't get a socket over it, as it is recessed into the head; this plug looks very similiar to the differential fill plug on most 80's type GM cars.............

Oops, so it is not a sending unit, like on my car. It is square? Will a 1/2" socket drive fit?
