New guy dumb question, I'm looking at a clean black/grey 96. No suspension settings, just Bil's I guess. It's got the GS motor but what's the "CE" thing.

PS: When did they come out with the HUD, C5's ?

Thanks.

Never mind the first q. it's Collector Edition. Sooooo what is included in the CE options!

Thanks!

Collector Editions (CE) were only offered in 96, with the Grand Sports. All CEs are painted Sebring Silver (only year for this color) and came with the ZR-1 styled wheels. You could get the LT-4 in them with the 6-speed.

The CE and Grand Sports were really built to generate some interest in 96 since it was the last year before the C5s. I have an LT-4 CE (hence my name) and really like it. As far as performance, the LT-4s are all over the place, but almost everyone agrees they were underrated by GM - probably iin the 350 range by most accounts.

RPO Z15 (1996 only) included silver 17" 5 spoke wheels, black brake calipers with silver lettering, sebring silver paint, special emblems, P255/45ZR17 front tires, P285/40ZR17 rear tires and sport seats with "Collector Edition" embroidery.

There were 5,412 cars made with the Z15 (Collector's Edition) option. The LT4 engine makes the car even rarer, but not quite as rare as it would be if it had the engine option with the F45 or Z51 suspension option.

To answer your other questions, the C5's were introduced in 1997 and the head's up display came out in 1999.
