Someone screwed up and didn't put it back then; that sucks! Unless it's in one of the compartments and I'm sure you've looked there anyway.

I guess i will have to get another one... not gonna be fun

I guess i will have to get another one... not gonna be fun

I seen someone posted instructions on how to do this; never knew or even thought of about this myself; guess you wouldn't unless you was in need! I think I will save the instructions in the event I lose mine.

I called the chevrolet dealer and spoke to him about the lugnut key, he says they have a tool that will dig into the lug nuts and get them off then you have to buy a new set with key for $100

WOW!! please read ALL my posts.
You can do the same thing and return to the stock key(socket) system for $19 - delivered. the tool he is talking about is the spiral socket that i wrote about. these beauties cost ~$50 in sets.
YES it may damage the lock lug but you don t need new ones anyhow. Once removed, you can replace the (four - one per wheel) with regular nuts either new or used. If the dealer has the tool, so do the thieves. Therefore the security system is useless. dont waste your time with this.
Go to the AMCOR web site and they will tell you how to do it.
A reminder: You are not looking for a "key" like door key, it is a ratchet socket which instead of a hex opening has a combination of ridges which fit over the 4 special lug nuts on your wheels. On each wheel you have 4 hex lugs and one special lug. (look under each (nut looking) plastic cover. they screw off to reveal the lugs.

Okay, does the lug nuts i see now are they covers or actual lug nut, the ones you see as the wheel sits if so i don't see a locking lug nut, they all look the same

Sorry.
The grey nuts you see there now are strictly decorative!
They unscrew to reveal the real (very strong) lugnuts. you can probably remove them by hand but may need a small socket wrench. They normally get loose and often fall off so keep them tight but since they are plastic dont tighten too much.
NOW you will find 4 normal lugnuts and ONE coded one. This coded one is the "locker" since you need a special wrench (aka key) to remove it The thought is that if a thief wants to remove the wheel he needs a normal lug wrench + a special one. Go to AMCOR and look for "order parts" and you will see them. order the wrench after your AMCOR dealer determines the correct color code. If you have a problem call AMCOR.

Thanks for pictures!
It looks like your lugnuts/locks/covers have been replaced.
If they are all solid metal and can be removed with a lug wrench, you are done.

I think they all have been replaced. or the cover would just screw off right...

From what i see you have all real lugnuts.
I dont see the grey plastic cover (they look like lugnuts themselves) on each lug.
I dont think you have any issues at all. Congratulations!! BTW the ones you have look great.

I know of this socket lug nut removal tool it definently tears up the lug nut but the Corvette OEM socket adaptor does not have a key so not sure what they are talking about :confused unless it is an after market thing!

Does anyone know what causes a squeeling noise when you accelerate

Does anyone know what causes a squeeling noise when you accelerate

Typically this is due to pressing down on the accelerator to hard to fast. Depending on how long the accelerator is held down you may also see smoke. :chuckle Sorry I couldn't resist.

The noise happens reguardless of how soft or hard i press the accelerator

Sounds like a belt or pulley ..... or .... you bought a real pig ... :eyerole

You can get a gatorback belt for around 40 bucks. If you have a few wrenches, you can change it yourself in about 15 minutes.

So you'all think it's a belt...and does the traction control have anything to do with it?

Can you identify its coming from the engine area; if not maybe it's something in the seat and I don't mean you, seat track or spring in the seat itself ;shrug I know mine makes a noise sometimes and acceleration would transfer body weight in the seat, just a thought.
