When is enough enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, in October a train runs from DC to Thurmont for ColorFest then heads on a scenic route through the mountains.

There are many B&B through out Thurmont and the mountains, since I live up here I haven't had the need to see how they are. Theres is one intown called "The Cinnamon House" that is very nice inside, I only know this because at Christmas time they open it up for the "Christmas Open House tour."

Hey EttevroC,
where do you live in Thurmont. I just moved from there this past Oct. up here near Boston. I lived off of Black Road up behind the orchard. You may have seen my vette ('86 coupe) running around and i know that you have seen my ex-roommate's vette (Yellow '78 with a hood scoop) running around. He calls it "Tweety". You are right about good eating. I use to eat breakfast there every Sat. morning and have had dinner there as well. Excellent country cooking.

I'll be staying this year in Thurmont for the Carlisle show. My roommate and i will be heading up there that Sat and maybe even Sunday. i'll probably haul the Z-06 to Thurmont then drive it to Carlisle. That way i can limit my chances of getting a speeding violation. The chance of getting into trouble is just to great if i drive the Z-06 from Carolina. My Maybe we can get togather during that time for breakfast or dinner.

If you see my ex-roomies vette on the road his name is Steve. Great guy and loves to talk vettes. Later

enough?

Sometimes you think never it's enough. I was like that with my 1991 jeep wrangler. bought it in 1998 for $4200. invested $3800 over the years because I loved it so much. Wouldn't get rid of it for the world. I ended up selling it for $3500 this past thanksgiving 2004. Truely a sad day. I kept putting it off for a long time although it was past overdue to let go. I guess I was blinded by my love for it.

The moral? It all works out sometimes. From the sale of the jeep and a christmas bonus at work I bought my first corvette. 1987 coupe . wooha!

There's Nothing like a vette!

That’s a cool coincidence; I used to live in Stoneham, MA. I now live off of Church St. down past the Sheetz.

I’m sure that I remember your Vette tooling around Thurmont, but I’m absolutely sure about your friends Tweety, that one really stands out. I’ll make sure that if I see him I’ll say hi.

I’m planning on going up to Carlisle this year, it will be my first time with my Vette, maybe we could meet at one of these restaurants pretty early, get some breakfast and all drive up together.

Yes that is a coincidence. I fought tooth and nail but in the end the Army always wins. I use to gas at the Sheetz all the time and I do know where Church street is.

Steve is a cool guy and knows a lot about vettes. He is also down right serious about Tweety. I guess I should blame him for getting the vette bug. Started out with the '86 and just recently bought the Z-06. I have a trip coming up to Fort Detrick on 9 and 10 Feb. So if you will PM me your home phone I'll give you a call. I have to visit Steve anyway so I'll be in Thurmont on of those evenings. we can both go see how he is going and I'll introduce you to him. Plus you can check out Tweety.

So cool about gettin togather for Carlisle. I think I have Steve talked into doing a Dyno run with Tweety to see what kind of ponies it is putting down since he put the blower on the engine. So there could be a serious convoy to Carlisle that Sat. I am going to try and get parking on the fair grounds. I don't want to leave mine where something might happen to it.

Talk to you later
