Where is the best place to buy calipers?

I have just purchase a very restorable 74 convertible as my first restore project and I am on a very limited budget. Can anyone tell me where to purchase stainless steel sleeved callipers? I have found some at www.corvettepartsman.com for $55.00 each plus core deposit. Has anyone ever purchased from this place before? Satisfied with transaction or can reccomend another? Thanks for any input.

When I replaced mine 2 years ago, The Last Detail had good prices.

TLD normally stocks good quality products, but I'd recommend going direct to Vette Brakes - they're the premium caliper people.

Not positive but I think TLD gets their Calipers From Lonestar Calipers from Texas.Check both prices.It may be cheaper to eliminate the middle man.

I can't say I've heard of www.corvettepartsman.com but, at this point in time nearly 25 years after the "discovery" of the C2/C3 brake corrosion problem and the advent of stainless steel sleeved calipers, there are many sources for the product.

Nevertheless, to do sleeving correctly takes experience, knowlege and the right machining equipment.

As long as I've owned a C3 (bought mine in 1980) I've purchased brake hardware from Vette Brakes and Products. Indeed, they are not the cheapest, but I've always received good quality parts from them. VB&P is at www.vbandp.com

On my C3---some might remember it from Vette Magazines old "Big Block from Hell" series--I use VP&P sleeved calipers, aluminum hub front rotors, master cylinder, brake booster and parking brake parts.
