This is the first time I ever posted anything, but enjoyed reading all the post. Just wanted to share a oil consumption story. I have a #matching 72 LT1 that has had a oil promblem for over 20 years and I finaly have it solved. I have the history on this car and have spoken to the original owner He had the engine completly rebiult in 81 because it was using 2 qts every 5oo miles and after the rebiuld it still did it. The car sat for many years and the problem was never addressed. I have had the car for 5 years now driving it only about 1500 miles a year. And using alot of oilwith no leaks or smoke. I pulled the intake and it was sucking the oil through the intake runners from the valley .Turns out it warped and not seated properly . Had it machined and all is well...

elteewon- Welcome aboard! :beer

Wow, that's a lot of oil to be going through! I'll bet you're pretty happy to have figured it out. I'm sure it will be a LOT more fun driving it now.
