$93??!! Cancel your order and shop around! I just replaced the battery in my '65 327/300. I bought a Delco 24-5YR and paid about $65 from a local parts store that's an authorized Delco dealer.
WRT the procedure, it is doable by one person but you'll be better off with some help. Here's the procedure I used:
1. Disconnect the battery cables.
2. Remove the expansion tank holding straps.
3. Remove the battery hold-down bolt and clamp that attach the battery to the tray (rear of battery).
4. You're now ready to remove the battery, but you'll notice that the expansion tank is in the way. You should be able to remove the battery without disconnecting the expansion tank. Have someone hold the expansion tank out of the way while you pull the battery out. BACK INJURY WARNING: You will be lifting something very heavy while bending over and it's pretty hard on your back. If you're worried about your back either get someone to assist with the lifting, or try using plastic grocery bags. You will probably need to triple or quadruple bag them to handle the weight. You can slip them over the battery while it's still in the car and then left it out with the bag handles; make sure you support the bottom of the battery anyway in case the bags start to break.
5. Check for corrosion on the battery cables and tray. It can be removed with a mixture of baking soda and water, but you better move your car outside first because it will leave a nasty stain on the floor! Use a wire brush on the cable terminals to remove any remaining surface junk that might interfere with a good connection.
6. You're ready to put in the new battery. Make sure the side with the terminals ends up closer to the rear of the car. You definitely want to use the grocery bags for this part so that you don't accidentally drop the battery as you're lowering it into the car. It can happen! With your assistant holding the expansion tank out of the way, lower the battery onto its tray (and remove grocery bags if you used them).
7. Reattach battery hold-down clamp, paying attention to getting it the right way up (yes I made this mistake at first, oops!).
8. Reattach the expansion tank holding straps, first checking the hoses to make sure they're all still securely connected.
9. Reconnect the battery cables and you're ready to fire her up!
I hope this helps. If anyone has anything to add or correct, please feel free to do so.
Cheers,
Andy
