Window crank removal.

Can someone out ther give me some help on how to remove my window crank handles. I want to rebuild my window regulators so the windows will roll up and down smoothly again but I need to get the cranks off to remove the door panel. I fabricated the tool to remove the door lock knobs and that went without a hitch. Please help!

Same clip holds the window handles on. Correct installation is with the open end of the clip toward the knob on the handle. I've taken them off by pushing the door panel away from the handle and popping the clip with a screwdriver. Not the easy way, and usually ends up by hunting for the clip that went flying, but it works.

Like Tim said, it's the same clip. Try coming at it from the other direction. if it was like the PO of one of my vettes, they put it on backwards.

They make a special tool to take the clip off but a small screw driver will work just fine. unfortunetly this is the easiest part of the job.

Thanks for the help everyone! I actually removed the clip for the door crank handle by placing a rag on top of the clip and pulling up and down fortunately it came right off. Got this trick from a friend in the auto body industry. Took everything apart today now I have to order the parts clean and lubricate everything then reassemble. Passenger side first then drivers side. Next I will get back to trying to get my horn working tightening my e brake cable and lubricating the cable going from tranny to shifter always have to pull that lever under brake booster to get the damn thing in park and remove the key. Any suggestions? I just think the cable needs to be lubricated.
