Kinda looks like part of the wiper blade metal tab or some debri got attached somehow to the wiper and put a scratch on my 3 week old car. The dealer tells me the windshield is a type of plastic? and he reffered me to a local window tint shop. I think the corvette action center is the best place for information so Anyway i'm looking for some input to fix this without have'n to replace the windshield. Thanks..

HI there,
What I would try is a cleanser call BON-AMI.
This is what we use here to remove many marks as it will buff the windshield, without putting more scratches into it.
Work it into a paste with water and then put it on the affected area.
Usually, I do the whole windshield, just to get all types of contaminants off the glass.

Interesting...
Didn't they also recommend that Bon Ami be poured into the carbeurators in the early Chevy small block engines for oil consumption?

er - never heard that one. Bon Ami is a mild abrasive, but it is an abrasive. I'd want to keep it our of my motor - but that's just me.:D

Sorry that I hijacked this thread. I agree that it sounds like a very bad idea. I read a lot of Corvette history books, and I have seen that more than once. Some of the early chevy small blocks used excessive oil. There was some kind of factory communication to put abrasive cleanser into the cylinder to score the cylinder walls. I will look through my books so that I can site one or two as sources.

Kids! Don't try this at home!!!

c4c5,
Thanks for the info, i will try it.

If for some reason the Bon Ami doesnt work(it should) any auto glass place should be able to polish it out. A plastic windshield? How did Bowling Green get that one past the feds? LOL
