Suzy and I were talking last week and I told her I would like to pick up a C 3 that bubba had already met and just go crazy with it. I should have the garage finished early spring at the latest, then we will see what kind of project emerges.
Living in Ohio, one hour away from Summit Racing for a couple years gives you all sorts of ideas. now I am an hour away from Mid America. :D

What many of us don't realize is that these cars are approaching 50 years old; the aftermarket that we enjoy today wasn't available 20 years ago so to keep these cars on the road many were "bubbaized". Mine has a 4 speed conversion done sometime in its past, pertronix ignition, only the speedo and gas gauge worked the paint is fairly recent but the "Corvette" script was painted over ;LOL and the PO told me a week after he got it home his overweight brother sat on the fender and cracked it :eek
It needs work but overall is a good solid car; I put a master cylinder in it the weekend after bringing it home and have been working on it and driving it ever since.

Coupe, base motor, auto., 110K miles. It may be worth $15K- $20K at the VERY most. No way will it bring 34K.

I agree. If it were a big block, MAYBE. But this car isn't worth $20K IMO.

Purists can KMA, it's your car so set it up how you like it. I'm not here to preserve my car for future generations or anyone else for that matter.

Get the best Vette you can afford and enjoy. If the car in the ad above is it, go with it! It's a Vette!

This is a quote from the original posted ad for the 1971....

"Corvettes, IM pleased to offer a 1971 BLUE Corvette with a blue interior, 350 MOTOR and auto transmission. The car is an original matching numbers car with factory air, and power steering,The car was restored 10 years ago (frame on) at 110K MILES and is in excellent condition. with removable rear window. The odometer shows 115K miles. Now its your turn to enjoy and care for this beautiful Classic 1971 L82 Corvette THIS IS A VA CAR GARAGE KEEP"

As far as I know...THERE WERE NO L82 CORVETTES MADE IN 1971. The L82 motor wasn't available until 1973. So tell me how this can be a numbers matching 1971...

Hmmmmmm....Must be a super rare car...And I though the LS6 was rare in 71!!!! All kidding aside ya gotta love those adds. Must be a real enthusiast selling the car:duh

;LOL when I was looking for mine there was a guy selling a 68 with a rubber bumper front end as "rare from the factory" original ;LOL

Here here! :beer
I wouldn't trade a mint condition 1980 with only five miles on it for my car.

If someone pays that kind of $$$ for that car then it truly defines the meaning....There is an ass for every seat!!!!
I will put my 71 for sale for 250k and say the gas has been hand pumped into the tank since new!

but you are missing major point, check out the mileage
140,000 that blows the whole "low mileage" thing ;LOL
and all those guys that have been afraid to drive their cars have been wasting good driving time.;LOL

Actually,That is Low Miles!!! At 12,000 a year it should have 576,000 miles! :D:D:D

Vette "values"

I agree ... it's not the value... it's what someone is willing to pay for one. This is very market driven. Baby boomers are buying hotrods now... hotrod values are skyrocketing. I imagine when the C3 Corvette is given it's due and prominently shown off in a blockbuster movie we'll all see the values of our cars go up. I think it's just a matter of time.
