the problem is i'm torn now between impatience to get the car back to drive her again or after getting her back being too scared to drive her after all this time and effort in the paint shop! ;LOL
Oh hell, what am I saying - i'll be driving her all over the place.
I know that very first rock chip is going to be the hardest for me to bear when it eventually happens, but such is the life of a driver car.

Barry,

They are meant to be driven.....everywhere:D Rock chips are badges of courage and should never be considered a negative aspect. I drive my car as much as time and money allow. It has some chips and cracks in the paint but overall it still looks great. I have friends with picture perfect cars that never venture out into the light of day and while they look perfect and will not need a repaint every 15 to 20 years (like mine) the drivers do not get as many "smiles per mile" as I do.

Enjoy it.....it's a car;)

Take care,
Brian

can't wait to see the pics when she is done

that's my feeling on it too!

"smiles per mile" - I like that!

Good timing Barry even with all the delays you'll still have the whole season ahead of you... Enjoy. Don't forget to take the wife for a nice long cruise.

yep! i missed a few shows already but no big deal. one of the "important" shows for me on my calender this year is May 22nd so it looks like i'll make that no problem, plus like you said, the whole season to enjoy driving her around!

i'll have Linda (my wife) out in Baby for a nice drive the day we bring her home. Linda misses the car almost as much as I do. She has turned into a real car girl. She LOVES Mustangs (I hate saying that name in here ;LOL) but after getting Baby she really likes Vettes now and wants one for herself (a C4). She goes with me to most of the shows and to all of the events and meetings of our local Vette Club with me. Without her support and encouragement I would never have been able to get my Vette so I make sure she enjoys the "Vette Life" as much as I do.

well, I may or may not be able to get there - if I do I'll probably won't get there until at least 6-7pm. Already have plans to be at a show that day up in your area. It's in Medford on Main St.
I was there last year (my very first show I ever went to!) and it was their first year doing the show and it was a great show. It's still one of the best i've been to locally. They closed off about 5 blocks of Main St to let all the cars park and spectators to see the cars all along the street. LOT'S and LOT'S of very nice cars. Especially considering it was their first time putting on the show it went very well and I've been looking forward to going again. It was open to all cars so there were a lot of Vettes but also 'stangs, custom rods, race cars, antique cars, some nice old Jag E-types, MG's and trucks.
Great weather, great "old-time Main St. setting", great people and great cars.......what more could you ask for?
:)

That show is over around 4pm so I could come back and still hit Fox Run show unless my wife wants to stop for dinner before we come home or see family. My all-time favorite resturant is up there and both of us are originally from S. Jersey and still have family there so there is a good chance we won't be rushing back.

It's good to know that Fox Run is on again this year though as I can always catch the other shows.

Barry - I just found out that the first Fox Run Cruise In is May 21, 2005 5-9 PM

Hello....friend of mine was at fox run last week. They had a cruise at the last minute and still pulled in 300+ cars.

We'll be thinking about you on Monday morning Barry! Really happy for you that this is finally solved. Enjoy your weekend:upthumbs

Barry,

Just got back from a long business trip...when we meet I will explain to you why I am gone for long periods.... Anyhow GREAT NEWS....you will not regret the wait...now you are getting EXACTLY what you wanted...Monday is tomorrow...pics as soon as you can....

See Ya Later///Collin

Collin

I know where you work so I can imagine why you go away for long trips..........keep us safe man!! :)

Just got back from the shop but no pics yet. He was still moving the last car out of the paintbooth and will be getting mine in afterwards.
The doors are still off of course so he is going to do the cutting in around the doorjambs and windshield and rear window areas. Than he will spray the insides of the doors and doorjambs and reinstall the doors. After the doors are back on the car than he will spray the rest of the body.
I should be able to get pics of the doors tomorrow and than pics of the whole car in color hopefully on Wed.
stay tuned..........same bat time, same bat channel! ;LOL

Barry..if all goes as planned (ha..ha)..when do u plan on getting HER back?? Remember, the GM Boxwood show is on May 7th....Think she'll be done by then??

Andy
:)

Andy

I'm guessing approx 2 weeks (hopeing is more like it! :) )

I didn't know about the show at GM on the 7th. Do you have anything you can email me about it?

Barry,

Good news. Now don't forget to take care of the mechanical stuff too before you go out cruising. You need an oil change by now based simply on the time she's been in the shop. Check the belts and hoses, all other fluids, lubricate, check tire pressure etc. I can't wait to see her but I'd rather not see her on the side of the road!

Andy/Barry,

The flyer I have regarding the "Second Annual Wilmington Assembly Auto Show" aka the GM Boxwood Rd. show is that it is indeed May 7, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Registration 7 AM. Judging 10 AM - 2 PM. Awards 3 PM. Entry fee is $10. Spectators $3. Under 16 free.
For more info go to www.UAW435.org

JL66REDCPE,

The GM plant is closer than Fox Run. It's very near the intersection of Rt. 141 and I-95. You can make it on one tank of gas! :D

Hi Terry

yep, as soon as she gets out I plan on oil and filter change, check valve adjustment, check trans and differential fluids, and grease all fittings, and have everything else checked out as well for the new driving season - not to mention a few days of detailing her to clean off all the dust from the shop and sanding that I'm sure has gotten into every nook and cranny.
I just wish I had a lift here at home to be able to detail underneath the car also! oh well, I'll manage the best I can with a hose and reaching with my hand and a rag as much as possible.

Thanks for the info on the show at GM. I'm not sure if she will be ready yet for that show but who knows, maybe i'll get lucky.
Since I'm just a few miles from you, I'm sure that even with the lousy milage the car gets I can make it to the GM show with less than one tank of gas! ;LOL ;LOL ;LOL
