ZO6 Best Qtr. Mi. Times?

There seems to be a wild disparity in the Qtr. Mi. times that i've seen for the ZO6.
The ones that i've seen at my local strip are running mid-high twelves.
What's generally regarded as the best times ever posted for: Bone stock, or stock engine cars with all the boltons (air, exhaust, gears, tires, etc.)

IF I remember correctly..Ranger/Jrod or a few other guys run thier 02 or newer Z06s' around 11.5 or 11.6 @ 119mph w only /airfilter mod and drag radials

Here's a good indication of the best a Z can do

02 Z06 Black on black; Bone Stock (zero mods)
Best Run (stock tires): 11.818 sec @ 117.26 at 170' DA at 17K miles
Best 60' (stock tires): 1.783
Dynojet: (SAE) 353 rwhp, 347 rwtq at 550 miles

With only Mods: Halltech Tric cold-air intake and BFG drag radials:
Best ET: 11.556 @ 117.69 at 1200' DA

Best ET (stock tires): 12.145 sec @ 115.85 on a 1.856 60'; 1703' DA
Best Trap: 118.1
Best 60' (drag radials): 1.703 (BFG 315.35.17 on 12" wide CCW wheels)
Best 60' (stock tires): 1.815
Dynojet (SAE) with Haltech Tric intake: 345 rwhp, 349 rwtq
Dynojet (SAE) bone stock: 335 rwhp, 334 rwtq

My best is 13.22 @110.5, bone stock, street tires. However, the strip is somewhere around 4000 ft elevation.

Well:

I have a slow '01 and turned 12.27@115.09mph completely stock with a 2.0 60ft time. If I could get a 1.7 like some of these guys do(I'm not going to abuse the clutch like that) I'd be in the high 11.7 range at 117 and some change, completely stock... Z06s are quick, damned quick..

Why in the world are the magazine guys turning in 1/4 times in the high 12's?

Maybe they are all test and tuning in IL. To see stock Z06's run in the 11's, let alone DEEP in the 11's is quite amazing. The best, stock Z06's I've seen run at good tracks like Rte 66 have been in the mid to low 12's @~116.

What do they pump in the air in NJ, NOS? LOL
