Help! ZR1 NOT STARTING!!!!!!!

This may be a good time to get a Factory Service manual. I'm not sure of their availability due to the ZR1's limited production. Just a thought.

Factory Service manuals for all the model years with LT5 engines are still available. CAC sponsor, Zip Products, has all of them available.

Any updates?

Gary,

Please do not type in the forums here with your CAPS LOCK KEY set to ON.

When you type in all capitals, it indicates shouting.

Thank you.

Well i found the cause of all the mess, it was the crankcase breather check valve failed which didnt allow the motor to suck up the access crankcase pressure. So it all went up through the valve cover breather. so a $20-30 part destroyed my baby:mad. Well i got the motor pulled and dissasembled and the oil rings were compressed and glazed.:cry so i started looking around for all the parts that would be needed when i came across doug rippie, doug rippie motorsports, and he told me to box up all the parts and ship them to him. he said that he would rebuild the motor and ship it back ready to rock and roll for $3500 plus shipping.:) the only major problem with that is i am extremely hard up for cash. so the car just sits in my garage under the cover while i make the car payments.:cry so i just try to keep my head up and tell myself that at least i finally have my dream car. even though i only got to drive it for two months. im currently getting everything set up to open my own body shop. so hopefully that works out great and i can get the money to fix my baby in a year or two.

Please do keep us posted on the progress. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. :thumb

Does all the LTx engines have a crankcase breather check valve? If so, does anyone know when this should be replaced? I looked in my '96 LT1 FSM and only found the PCV and the EGR valves for crankcase ventilation.
