ZR1?

RAB563: I too saw the ZR1 at the Convention Center auction, I looked at all the documentation and talked with the owner about the history of the car. It has been extensively changed over the years of use. It was hit and repaired and LOTS of replacement parts from Corvette stores for its refurbishing. They wanted a lot of money for it! Warren

There are a few other things that the ZR-1 didn't have as well such as a heater, thinner glass, mine is a roadster (vert. 1 of 4) that did a lot of racing in its day. I have the original block in it again, heads and intake in the garage. They came with either the M21 or M22 tranny, 3.55 or 3.73 rears. Mine has the M22 + 3.55 rear with the
deluxe interior (go figure). The engine suffix will read CKZ if original. From the outside you would not know it was any different than an LT-1, I have the original hood ( severely damaged by an idiot in a shop before I got it, a 72 L48 hood and an original L88 hood. I have the L88 hood on presently.

BOYS....BOYS knock it off!! This is quite simple. Read this and all will be fine. I have a 71' LT1 bone stock with full documents. It has the following: power steering and power brakes.
Air was available the last year, 1972 only. Does this help in any way? Power windows I cannot address, I will do some homework.

New LT-1

So all you LT-1 and ZR-1 owners. I just bought a 1971 LT-1 coupe with 72,000 miles. Its a real anomoly though and I hope you all can help. All numbers match and the VIN is on the engine pad and transmission. Here is the anomoly though. The suffix code is CGY not CGZ. I know that CGY is a ZR-1, but it has none of the ZR-1 equipment (other than the LT-1 engine) What gives????

Eeek! Service replacements will have a different broadcast code most likely. Someone on here has the codes for service replacements as well. Hopefully they'll see this thread.

Service replacement engines have no coding that will identify what type of engine it is. If it's a true warranty replacement engine, the stamp may start with 'CE' and then the sequence number of the build.Won't help identifying the engine tho.
