Help! Cannot remove radiator cap

Is there some trick to getting this off?

Happens a lot on a lot of cars.

If you can, grab a huge pair of channel lock pliers.

Be careful not to squish the cap.

Put the pliers on firmly, and turn slowly.

You should be good to go!

I'd bet some of you guys really miss the full serve gas station down on the corner. The place where the little guy ran out, pumped your gas, wiped the windshield, checked the tires, and made sure the oil and water were topped off.

If you insist on using the the "huge" channel locks, pipe wrench or a two pound hammer to get your radiator cap off, just make sure you push down on it while it's rotating. Otherwise, you might just twist the neck out of your radiator or your surge tank.
