yes it is almost a must to convert the gen to alt .. I don't recall the power output this alternator is but more is better... I used this bracket setup for both the compressor and alternator available from Classic Air (where my unit came from)...

the rear end is 3:08 ... the car is so light that I can hardly tell any difference when I had the T-10 tranny and 4:11 - except on the highway and instead of screaming it's a nice hum now !! ...

the engine is a 350 cubic inch GM Crate motor with fuel injection, comes from the General all as one and ready to plug and play .. pretty neat and simple way to get fuel injection .. here is the best photo I have of the engine (before the AC was added and paint) ..

note.. on the interior controls for the air unit .. I use their cables, replace their generic knobs with '56 wiper control knobs that fit both cable controls with the set screw that the knob comes with ...
I have a Classic Auto Air unit in my modified '56, with the heat, AC, defrost unit all in one. I am very happy with it. I drive my car and in Texas the AC makes it possible to drive and enjoy the car in the summer, put the top up and turn on the AC and go !
I used Frankford Plating in Philly for my '56 parts, sent them from Texas to them, came back perfect, no complaints no redos ..

I am wanting to put these wheels on my Vette, the car will have the orginal kingpin front suspension with disc brakes added... anyone done this and do you have any recommendations on wheel/tire size ?? thanks!
thanks.. and did not know that about the inside of trunk and top of trunk lid and top compartment lid.. for some reason I thought the trunk was black ..
