Question: Hood alignment/adjustment after tire installation

They said that the older cars have "frame flex" and will cause windshields/targa tops to crack when the car gets jacked/lifted up. I was there watching them. It didn't look like they adjusted anything. I am going to have to bring it back because it seems like a wheel weight or weights fell...

Question: Hood alignment/adjustment after tire installation

Greetings, I took my 94 coupe to Discount Tires about 3 weeks ago. Had a new set of Nittos put on. Car has the factory wheels. When they did the job, they wanted to remove the targa top, pop the rear hatch, hood, and doors. I allowed them to do all except remove the targa roof. I told them...

Questions about error codes and service select ride light

I got the actuators back in and everything works! I did clear the codes by crossing those two pins. I did turn the ignition on/off three times to do it though. Joe Paco, I bet if you try again it will work.

Questions about error codes and service select ride light

Okay, I got the actuators out and shipped off to Captain Z CNC. I should have the rebuilt parts back very soon. Anyway, when I put the actuator back on top of the shock, does it matter how it is postioned? Does it self calibrate? Hopefully I'll be back on the road by the end of the week!

Questions about error codes and service select ride light

Well, I went to a local shop to have the codes pulled with a GM Tech 2 scanner. I have the codes written down in the garage, but I think it was code 31, 32 & 34. I think they indicate front left and right, and rear right has problems. I pulled the actuators and they both had cracked gears...

Questions about error codes and service select ride light

Greetings, I've been away for a while because I sold my 85 coupe, but I just bought a 1994 coupe w/ AT and code P (LT1) motor. A trouble light is on and I believe it reads "Service Selective Ride Control." It does have the FX3 system. When I tried pulling codes with my Actron scanner, none...

    New web page

Great site! That media file was absolutely great too...especially after not having driven my own C4 for several months (due to winter in MN). That sound of the V8 was just what I needed to cure those winter blues. Good work.:upthumbs

Putting tire sealent in tires for preventing flats

That slime stuff is junk. I've used it before and it throws the tires out of balance contrary to what sales people will tell you (or the product label). It really isn't that effective for stopping leaks in my opinion and experience.

    Clean plenum

What I was reffering to was, if you use Simple Green, and it runs down the engine block.... isn't the front spring fiberglass? I thought Simple Green had an acid in it that would weaken the fiberglass if too much were used.

Won't simple green damage fiberglass springs?

    Clean plenum

I have a 1985 coupe. The plenum looks dirty and kind of old looking. What do you use to clean it or make it look new? I really don't want to use paint because I don't think that would last. Has anyone ever used one of those scunci (sp?) steam cleaners on the engine compartment? Thanks, bgj
