I had a 96 Convertible prior to the 2 C-5's and that one was much noisier as it had no sound deadening material at all.

I have a late 2000 MY Vert and it has the additional sound deadening and it's very quiet, almost as good as the C-5 coupe I had previously.

I want to change my original Delco battery to a Optima Red Top. What is the procedure to change without resetting radio codes, etc.?

It must be fairly common. I have seen posts here before about this, and mine does it also. I tried cleaning and treating the weatherstripping, but it didn't help.

I see it when I just turn on the ignition switch and don't start the engine, like when I raise the windows after putting the top up.

I would guess resale value would be the biggest concern with that mileage, but for a daily driver it should be no problem.

I believe it was the 2003 Anniversary Model with the shale interior.

I had the same problem on my 2000 BGM Coupe, nothing I tried would help. I finally traded for a Millenium Yellow Convertible, problem solved!! Seriously, I think the only fix is a new top.

I am not near my owner's manual, but I think you hold down both the lock and the unlock buttons until the horn chirps and they are reset.

On the way home from the NCRS meet in Orlando last night, my fuel gauge suddenly dropped from 1/2 to E and the check gauges light came on and the DIC range indicated nothing (blank). I filled the tank and it took 12 gallons, so evidently it wasn't empty. After refueling, it still reads empty...

I have owned 11 Vettes over the last 30+ years, 1960, 1966, 1967, 1969 (2), 1972, 1975, 1977, 1996, 2000(2). They are all great cars, but by far the best has been the C-5. If you are looking for a collector go with the older ones, but for a driver to enjoy you can't beat the C-5.

Is that similar to a driver's side airbag and a passenger side windbag??:confused :confused
