I also have a 76 and the insulation is old and dirty. Is the reason you are replacing your just for looks or is there other reasons? I also have seen the one on Corvette Central.
There are 2 things possible here:
1. the long strip of metal that runs all the way across the front of the car has delamed from the fiberglass--- big bucks

2. this is what happened to mine. There is a metal frame that holds the head light assembly. Mine was broken, so I took it out and...
I was going to bleed the brakes and find out the 2 rear inside bleeder valves are broken off. Now how do I get them out? How do you prevent it from happening again?
Mine has started doing the same thing only with a slight click in the pedal just before the break light comes on. Does yours do that? MC is full but I have not tried bleeding yet.
The rear (near hood) outside bolt of the 4 that attach the assembly is tight but the assembly is broken all around that bolt. You would have thought I would have seen that earlier. Any way to fix it? I just looked in the Mid America catalog and it looks like they call that piece the Support RH...
Got home, loosened the six screws and pushed up on the assembly and the one side still sits about ¼ inch in the hole. Would a combination of adjustments make the difference or like you mentioned the bushings. Thanks – I have learned a ton from all the stuff that is on this site.
I have been under her, I have read the threads on headlights, I have a assembly manual but I can not get the whole headlight assembly to sit higher in the hole. Someone please tell me how to raise the whole assembly or at lease the outside part so it does not scrape when opening and closing.
