How do you get at the left outer tailight bulb on an 88 convertible? I checked my Helms manual, and theres no way I can squeeze my arm in there from the bottom as recommended. Also tried by taking the license plate off...again no way.
Do I have to drop the exhaust?
Do you know if there is only one switch on the clutch pedal? The switch on the pedal fully opens after less than an inch of pedal travel. It acts like there is a switch that is activiated when the pedal is fully depressed?
I'll check the relay ...thanks for the diagrahm & photos.
I have an 88 convertible with a stick. I have had to depress the clutch pedal harder and harder to get the car to start. The pedal obviously needs to be fully depressed to start.
Now, it won't start at all. From what I've read on this site, I don't believe it is a VATS problem.
Where is the...
I just installed the UltraFlo's on my 88 convertible. I also installed the Walker Y-pipe with the crossover tube. Sound is a little on the loud side for a convertible, but I was looking for an improved sound over stock. If you drop me a line privately with your e-mail address, I will get you a...
I painted mine with high-heat aluminum spray paint. When the pipe got hot, the paint cured to a nice aluminized looking finish.
I can get you the brand and part number if you want it.

Car has only 14,500 miles and had been...
Make sure you can remove the fill plug before servicing the unit. I'd use an 8-point socket to get a good grip. I rounded off my fill plug and never did get it out. Just a word of caution.
I found the filter at CARQUEST. It is Pioneer part # 746001. Much cheaper than the specialty suppliers...
I am getting ready to replace my ailing Bose unit along with all of the speakers. Somebody makes a pigtail to re-use the existing speaker wires to connect to the new speakers without cutting the original ends off. I just want to keep the original harness intact in the event I ever reinstall the...
Those numbers did not match anything supplied as original equipment to GM.
Part of your number does match a replacement muffler manufactured by Goerlich. They also make Merit, Arvin-Meritor, and CARQUEST exhaust products. Take a look at www.goerlichs.com
Happy hunting
A quality OE style filter will do the best job in removing dirt from the airstream. A K&N style filter will provide additional airflow, however, over time will decrease in it's ability to trap dirt and will allow abrasive particles into your engine. Your call.
PS - I'm still checking the...
Look on the shell of the muffler and see if you can see any numbers, names, or a logo embossed in the metal. Is the system all welded or clamped together?
