The hood on your 67 is an L88 style. That hood was either aftermarket or someone molded the L88 onto the 67 hood. The L88 hood was only available from the factory on the 68 (80 produced) and 69 (116 produced) L88's. There were plenty of aftermarket hoods available. I had one on my 69 L46...
If you haven't figures it out yet, the VIN on a 69 is on the Left A Pillar. You can see it through the windshield. If it isn't there then all you have is a pile of parts.

You can use a 5 blade fan with the fan clutch. It will help pull more air through the radiator. You could also install an electric pusher fan in front of the radiator to increase air flow. That would really help when you are sitting in traffic.
Unless it sits all the way at the bottom of the engine bay or you decide to foolishly drive through deep water you should be fine. Personally I would replace it with a Blackwing style system.
I had the GY's on my 13 GS Convertible replaced last week with Bridgestone Potenza RFT's. $1,736.00 mounted, balanced and sales tax. The difference in the ride and noise is like night and day.

If the price is right, buy the car. You should get around 15,000 miles from the GY's. My 13 GS has 15,000 miles on it and I still have sufficient tread for another 2,000 miles. Many owners replace the GY's earlier because they tend to be noisy. I have already purchased the replacement...
