I have a set of after market rims that came off of my 89 Corvette. The rears have a set of 315 x 17's that fit under my wheelwell fine. (The rims may be the same offset as the GS but I just can't remember.) I have a potential buyer who has an 87 Corvette. We need to know if they will fit his...
I have a set of rims and tires that fit on my 89 Corvette. They are aftermarket rims. A guy with an 87 Corvette wants to buy them. We need to know that they will fit. If they fit on my 89 will they for sure fit his 87? Is the offset the same?
The Prowler air dam shown works great. I put one on my 89 years ago and noticed a slight decrease in temperature while the car was moving. I have smacked it up against parking curbs and in general it has withstood great abuse on going up driveways and such. It withstood all this abuse without...
There is a duel mass flywheel on ebay right now for under $700.00. The aluminum one will be $500.00 or so and you need a different disc. I've talked to guys with the light FW and there is definate noise issues. Also, with the lighter FW you have less inertia, so it might take a getting used to...
I had the same problem on my 89. The car will run in the "limp home" mode if you disconnect the MAF but the MAF is problbly shot. You can buy one on the net or get an aftermarket one from a corvette catalogue. I have the one that you will find in Mid America Motorworks catalogue page c4-28...
You will find that a LOT of debris collects BETWEEN the radiator and the A/C condenser. Find some way to clean all the stuff that has collected there. Leaves, paper and cigarette butts collect mostly in the bottom left and right corners near the radiator. The cooling area of the radiator isn't...
Clean debris from between the radiator and the A/C condenser. Leaves, paper and cigarette butts gather there and cut off air to some of the radiator area. The debris gathers mostly in the bottom left and right hand corners or the radiator. You would be surprised how MUCH stuff collects there.
I forgot a few more things.
Radiator(twice)
water pump-3 times (I now have one from HI-FLOW, has lasted years)
Head light motors, both L and R- repaired myself with the bushing kits
Hood hinge on passenger side broke- replaced
plastic Vaccum lines under plenum broke- replace with new ones
all...
I forgot to mention a few things.
Needed a new MAF sensor, air filter housing(cracked at seam), fuel pump and screen, had to replace the bulbs in the instrament cluster and had to have the intake manifold gaskets replaced because of infamous coolant leakage at rear of manifold.
I love this car.
