    Parking brake shoe install

Hi Brian, I replaced the "blind" pin by loosing the bolts as explained in the instructions. Problem is trying to hold the blind pin with a needle nose pliers while trying to fit:bang the spring and dime sized metal piece with the hole in it over the pin- and then turn the pin to hold it on...

    Vansteel's U-joint /half shaft service

Thanks. I'm just about ready to box um up. The Neapo's (non-greaseable) will be fine for my application. The price to do them is fair and even though I've done them in the past myself (and once screwed up a flange), I've got better things to do;shrug .

    Vansteel's U-joint /half shaft service

Anyone ever send their half shafts to Vansteel for u-joint installation. They use the Neapo (sp) brand which I understand are pretty good.

    '57 Fuelie at Cristies Auction

At the Greenwich Concours yesterday and the car went for $90K plus buyers premium which I took as a "good deal" for the buyer if the car was what it said it was - an original numbers matching fuelie. No real interest show by the bidders which I think there were only 2 bidding on it.

Are C-1 and C-2 prices falling???

I can say IMO with 99% certainty:eek you'll never find a "deal." Not these days. Been on the lookout for "deals" since I bought my first Corvette in '72 and am still waiting for a barn find. Just glad I bought the 2 I did, when I did and back then, still thought I paid too much:w

    R12 refrigerant, replacement

Well I guess I got royally screwed over by my guy a couple of years ago. He charged me something like 3 times that amount (and it still doesn't work).

    Where to buy Canvas Garage?

Thanks all for your replies. What I was hoping for was a specific brand/model to buy. Cover It seems to make various models - some not as good as others. A carport won't give me whatever protection against dampness then even what a canvas garage will. I did some internet searching yesterday...

    Vendor Warning: Corvetteworx

I too disagree with the charging of the credit card until an item is shipped especially if I have to pay the credit card billing before receipt of the item. There is another major supplier that does this and I don't buy from them anymore, not that it probably matters much to them.

    Where to buy Canvas Garage?

My '69 has been temporarily displaced from the garage due to another car purchase. I've seen Canvas type "temporary" garages while on vacation traveling but now that I want one, can't seem to find where (an internet site perhaps) to buy a "good" one. Pep Boys sells a 10x20 (my cousin bought...

    Sad sight

Some of us do eventially get 'um going again. I bought my '67 in 1975 while I had my '69 as basically a daily driver except for the winter. I drove it for a year to determine it's mechanical soundness. I then disassembled the trim pieces, bumpers and lights - stripped it, primed it and left...

Help on '67 SB ignition shielding (top)

Well, if you guys say so:bang that it will fit, I'll proceed. Man, why is it that nothing is easy? Hey, and many thanks for your replies and advice. Fred

    Lucas Oil Stabilizer

The only thing that cured my power steering cylinder leak was a new cylinder. I tried 2 bottles of Lucus with no luck prior.

Replace custom nose with stock piece

I would like to put back my '69 as original. I've had the custom nose on it since the mid 70's but my tastes have changed and I think I now want the pop ups back. My question(s) are: 1. Can I just take the molding strip off and attach the top hood press molded surround piece and put on a new...

Help on '67 SB ignition shielding (top)

I bought this shielding last year and have finally gotten around to putting it in - which I thought wasn't going to be a big deal. Well, it doesn't seem to fit. Motor is original so maybe I was sent the wrong shielding. There is a hole in the top of the shield and I would assume that fits on...

Can you? Should you? Will you?

No BS. I have that issue in the attic and remember the picture again after seeing it here. I guess "old age" hasn't set in yet

    '71 Differential Ratio

My '69 has the 3.08 rear and runs at 3000 rpm at 80 mph. I get at least 20 mpg cruising at speeds up to 75 mph but with speeds normally running probably at around 65. That's what it delivered on my 600 round trip run to Watkins Glen in September. With the TH400, it's a great combination if you...
