spotty lamination of rear window on coupe

Has anyone noticed the spotty look of the rear window especially in the sun on the coupe? Is this a common problem? Mine has been getting quite a bit worse and it spends little time in the sun. It almost looks as if the laminations were not done quite right or something. It has that look that...

    C5 Top retainer adjustments?

Thankls alot for the info. I will go down and try it today. I was trying to avoid a trip to the dealer who could possibly make things worse.

    C5 Top retainer adjustments?

Does anyone know how to tighten up the retainers that hold the coupe top in place in the interior rear compartment? Mine rattles while hitting bumps and you can actually pull it out from the bottom without unclipping the two locks by just lifting up a little, which makes me a little nervous...

Anyone NOT run their front plate?

So glad you all feel the same as I do! I just went down to the garage and installed the cover over my plate. Thanks for all the response.

Anyone NOT run their front plate?

How many of you DON'T run their front license plate out there in states that require it and how many have been stopped for it? I just hate the way it looks.

    Z06 exhausts

I had mine put on at the dealer for about 50 bucks...no hassle. They are exactly what I was looking for in sound and looks.

    Aftermarket Exhaust ??

Mike, I swapped my 02 exhaust for a Z06 exhaust which is titanium, has larger tips and gives a little more meat to the sound while still sounding fairly stock, not to mention that they can be bought nearly new for a lot less money.

    near new C5 exhaust

near new C5 exhaust....SOLD! I have a C5 exhaust with polished tips from my 02 Coupe with only 2200 miles on them and never seen rain. I am looking for a reasonable offer for someone close enough to the Boston area to maybe meet somewhere. I just sold these the other day...

    skip shift eliminator success

Sometimes in heavy traffic you are forced with the choice of running the revs up in first and staying there for a block or so or going to second where you should be. Hard to drive it "like you should" when there are cars 10 feet in front of you.

    skip shift eliminator success

No Question about it. I have 3000 miles on mine and it has certainly gotten easier to shift as I crossed about the 1800 to 2000 mark. I don't think the kit has anything to do with that, but I thank the kit every time I go from first to second in heavy traffic!

Blackwing or K&N Dual Filter Kit

I also have the Blackwing and like it. Has anyone tried the West Coast Corvette Cold Air Screens or ZO6 screens with the Blackwing and does THAT make any difference as far as cold air goes? I still hate to cut the shroud, and I am worried about water. And does that aftermarket performance hood...

    skip shift eliminator success

Mrs. Schroder was right! I got curious so I took the car back out for an even longer drive and toward the end of the ride (about another 35 or 40 miles the dreaded light started coming on, but still does not come on all the time, . I was slowly accelerating to 15 to 20 miles per and got it to...

    skip shift eliminator success

Yes, I drove it about 35 or 40 miles as I also just installed a Blackwing on the car and wanted to try that out. (Yes, it REALLY does make a difference!) I didn't know if the car would have to go through a learning curve for the new air or not (I have not installed the MAF) but I gave it that...

    skip shift eliminator success

I just installed my skip shift kit in my 02 coupe and found that it works really well. The interesting thing is that the light on the dash does NOT come on anymore. I used the Hurst kit (I suppose they are all nearly the same), so I don't know if it is the kit itself or if there is a change in...

C5 2001 Air Box Cover Change

Does anyone have a photo of the Zo6 box with the air inlets showing? And what is the deal with oil on the MAF? How would that change by going to a Zo6 box or other aftermarket type?

    Got Air?

Thanks for the replys. I wonder why more people don't lean toward the Z box? I have never seen them side by side to compare how much less restrictive it is than the original LS1 box. I was assuming that it is only a bit larger than the LS1 box seeing as how many people with Z's seem to change...

    Got Air?

I posted in the tech dept. and didn't get much action so I will try here. Anyone got suggestions for an airbox setup? Blackwing, Vararam are the main contenders for me and I have considered Vortex but I hate the idea of cutting my car in any way. I am frightened of Vararam a little because of...

    MAF Change bring problems?

I have been thinking of changing the MAF and have been told by several people that it actually STEALS horsepower from you (tested on a dyno) and you are much better off leaving the stock sensor. Hot Rod and other Mags in 03 seem to back this up with thier tests. Any opinions on this one?

    C5 to C6

I also am considering the C6. I will also wait until the bugs are discovered. Hopefully it will have the power of a Zo6 in the coupe or converible as the standard engine. I would have gotten a Z , but at 6'7"" I don't like to be closed in (and the sunshine in the northeast is too short), so I am...

    Airbox questions

Thanks for the reply. I have just discovered the Rammer and have been looking into it. Trying to find installation instructions to make sure there is no cutting involved.
