Sounds like your drive gear/bushings are stripped VERY common since they are made out of nylon.... Ecklers sells a upgraded kit with instruction they're gears are made out of brass. www.ecklers.com BTW welcome to the CAC!

I took a look at our computer system (ShopKey 5) We can buy nearly every piece on the rack to repair. Usually with cheaper cars you just replace the entire thing with a rebuild but on ours we can replace individual pieces. Hope that answers something for you! It can be done.
