Mike,
I don't have sketch. But look how a carburetor operates. Mainly the bottom part that less the mixture into the engine. You have the base of the carb with a rod going through it. That rod has a butterfly on it that acts as a valve. I'm thinking 3" tubing may be a little overkill and 2.5"...
Uhhh... you have 3.07 gears. Then I'll assume this is an auto trans? If that's the case then you would have the G92 performance option. I thought that was just 3.07 instead of 2.59 gears. But still using the Dana 36 rear end?? After all it was only a $50 upgrade... 6-speed came with 3.45 and the...
Redbob,
I definetely agree on the resonators. The tubes are small but straight through. The inlets look like the tubes would be 2" dia judging how the pipe reduces going in. We ran the car with the factory mufflers off and only a resonator. Loud and you could easily feel the exhaust flow out of...
Well... I have to sell them. I don't have the time or money right now to continue with experiment. They came off the car this morning. Almost cried watching them come off... :cry
-=Jeff=- Neal is buying them and is close by so we're going to meet Sunday and he's going to use them on that...
Dave,
Did you put the exact same magnaflows? They have a bunch of different ones you can put on. These actually fit excellent. All we did is cut the pipe and weld new ones on. I have the SLP cold air setup with 3 K&Ns and a cut shroud. That definetely changed the breathing habbits. Other than...
Mike,
I know of only one person who has done the Edelbrocks. I haven't ridden in the car but he likes them. But it's only 1 person. There are at least 4 guys on the other forum that are running the HAL shocks and are quite impressed. I've heard enough bashing about Koni the past year that I...
Topless,
Yes if you do coil-overs you will get moved into a class you don't want to race in. The guys with coil-overs are pretty serious level and have purpose built cars.
I'm curious who has tried the Edelbrock IAS shocks. They are supposed to adjust themselves on the fly based on the road...
Topless,
you're absolutely right. this guy has an X-pipe. he only charged me $50 to put these on and won't charge me to put my originals back in. he owes me a favor because i got him a handful of people who are now customers.
here is the problem. where are you going to put the X-pipe and assure...
These have to be the best looking mufflers I've seen to date (personal preference of course). I've gotten lots of compliments at work with it sitting there in only 2 days. Even had a guy in a green 94 chase me down the highway waving at me to pull over. We happened to get off at the same place...
Thanks. Yes they look awesome on the car. At idle there is a slight rumble. From idle to about 2000rpm they have a deep powerful sound that smoothes out. Above 2000 they sound really sweet and racey.
The only catch is I have a coupe and the resonance is there at 1200-1800rpm on accelerate and...
Ken,
I'm all set on the pics and have a real one sitting on the shelf. So I'm quite familiar with how they look now. And yes there is a secret society passing around thermostat pics, and no you can't join :t ;)
DropTop,
The Ed Wright chip is working well. I haven't noticed any SOTP...
Well I got my Magnaflows installed last night. These are the ones for the 92-96 LT1/4 cars. Not a catback. No resonator. Mufflers are all polished stainless steel with a single 3" inlet and 2 twin tips coming out. They look great. Welded in place.
Initial feeling is they sound really good. At...
You got it to start and it stopped grinding. You're lucky. When my started solenoid kicked the bendix gear in it never let go. Car made a god awful racket. But to make matters worse when I turned the key to off the darn thing wouldn't stop cranking. I was lucky enough to be in my garage at the...
Yeah same thing on a 92. That Haynes manual for 84-96 has some general statements in it that don't apply to all C4s. I too searched for the mysterious joints in the rear that needed lube. There aren't any. Just the 4 in the front.

Incase anyone wants a picture that shows how the stat looks from the bottom here it is. You can see the 2 sections that makes it different from conventional thermostats.
Also just as a note. If you ever want to flush your system and don't want to wait for the car to get to 180+ deg before the...
