    L-69 305

Darkshark thanks for the cam data on the L-69. In a way you are right on the LG4. I liked that motor and thinking of building a 305 by using the L-69 & LG4 parts to come up with around 200 or so HP. Should be able to mate MPG, HP and driveability in a C3 4speed package. Gary

    L-69 305

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, but here is what I'm looking for: I has reading about RPO's and there was mention of the L-69 305 from Chevy. This is one that I have never heard before. My first Vette was an '80 with the 305 and I really like it; great mileage on the highway and...

All of the above; and YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MANY TOOLS !!!!!!!! A good set of screw drivers; punches; pry bars are all needed items. A couple of nice items are seatbelt bolt socket as well as sending unit socket. Nothing else will work safely when working on this things. SAVE THE WAVE Gary

    Question: Oil Past PCV?

Well I guess I'll add 2 cents. I'm a bit old school, and one thing I learned was that if you take an older motor and just rebuild the top end 70% of the time the extra compression will blow by the old ring. Then you have a lot of blow-by . The old ring just can't handle it. The old saying is...

    fuel inlet fitting leak

Replacing the gasket is a good idea, if that doesn't fix it replace the fitting. I say that it is because many times the fitting it self are abused, cross-threaded, over thightened etc. I've had to replace the inlet fittings before; they looked good and everything tighten up and still leak. Gary

    fuel inlet fitting leak

There should be a small gasket that goes on with the inlet fitting, between the inlet and the bowl. I've had this problem before and ended up replacing the inlet fitting with an aftermarket one. Gary

    1980 pillar weatherstrips

;help I,m guessing that you are referring to the rear pilar. They are pop-riveted on from the back. Remove the trim, where seatbelt comes out. Once that is moved out of the way you will be able to see the pop-rivets. Then drill the rivets out and then you can remove the seal. Sometimes the...

    Early C3 seats

I finally got around to getting the '91 seats in my '78. Yes, they are great and look good as well. So, I have the stock seats with no need for them or room to store them. One seat is in really good shape and the other has a couple of wear spots as well as a hole, about 1 inch circle, in the...

    Question: Stock Q-Jet or Edelbrock

The old Q-jet is a very good carb for both performance & mileage when they are tuned properly. If you are going to rebuild it then get someone who know what they are doing with Q-jets. I'm an old school Holly guy; so I have a Holly spreadbore 650 on my '78. The spreadbore was made for the SB...

Question: Has anyone here undercoated their Vette?

My current '78 came to me with heavy undercoating on it. As ol Blue said it was pelling off with rust growing under it. I've been removing it a section at a time. I then have to grid the frame clean, put rust killer on and repaint everything. It is also a real problem to get off bolts and stuff...

    Help! 81 Rear Rotor Removal

One thing you need to make sure of is to get the E-brake adjustor hole on the rotor matched up with the hole in the flange. When I tried to adjust the E-brake on my current '78 and the hole was blocked. I ended up replacing all the E-brake parts and the rear rotors. This time I made sure the...
