    Radio/CD replacement?

Yes, the Bose systems are way out of reach, that's why I want to replace it with something that does not cost $1,000 and fits and looks good to the eye. I don't want to modify the dash. I was hopping there was something that would just bolt right in. All I want is something that my wife can play...

    Radio/CD replacement?

My Bose CD player does not work. I have the Bose Radio/CD/Cassette. For those of you that have replaced yours, what did you replace it with other that a rebuilt Bose system? I want something that doesn't look like it doesn't belong. Ya know? Thanx! Mike

    Shudder going into high gear?

Well, I finally found the problem. It was what I thought all along. The lock-up in the convertor was slipping and not fully engaging. So, I sent it out for a full rebuild. I get it back on Friday. I'll let ya know what happens from there.

    Lets talk Motor buildup

Great site! I have been there before! Is that your Topolino? Now that is "Old School". We had one like that around here back when I was running my Turtle Deck. My chassis was originally Torensio Bros. Do you have any pic's of it from back in the day? I have only seen one pic of it and have tried...

    Lets talk Motor buildup

I stand corrected. It seems you are absolutly right. I guess I have been away way too long. It does show that the automatic cars are quicker than the stick cars these days. SS/C 9.14 @ 148.63 compaired to SS/CA 8.99 @ 148.24 both records held by Corvettes by the way. Back when I ran my Altered...

    Lets talk Motor buildup

There are large differences between automatic cars and stick cars. Cam profiles, intake runner resign and length, ei, low cross ram for automatic, tall tunnel ram for stick. The difference in launch is important also. The converter allows the engine to get to its "power curve" and then launches...

    Rough running after R&R heads

Yes, places are really getting the big bucks for labor these days and what you get are guys that just read a manual. I myself, don't do much work on my own `vette or even my Blazer these days. There are way too many things under the hood and you usually need a computer to find the problem with...

    Rough running after R&R heads

Definitely my mistake there. I was thinking it had a throttle body. I thought it was older for some reason. Anyway, it's been a while since I've lifted the bonnet on one of them baby's. I just don't want the poor guy to get into more trouble that he can afford. It must be the Dad in me talking...

    Lets talk Motor buildup

First off, is the car automatic or stick? The cam sounds good, but don't forget long duration effects vacuum which effects power brakes. Next make sure it all works together. How high are you going to wind the motor, what gear do you have in the rear? Make sure your intake is designed for...

Even teflon tape will work, but never use epoxy.....

    Help engine problems

Popping back through the carb usually indicates a bad intake valve. Popping out the exhaust is usually an ignition problem. Having it happen at both ends seems to be a total timing problem. The distributor could be a tooth off, dwell could be off, a bad condenser. There is an explosion at the...

    Rough running after R&R heads

Yup, that might just be it. The smallest thing will mess it up. Keep us posted and Good Luck! :lou

    Rough running after R&R heads

Mark, No offence, but, if you have never done this before, you have no business doing it. There are so many variables that could possibly be the problem. To start, look at the bottom of your distributor where the gear is. There is a pin. This pin goes into a slot that drives the oil pump. It is...

    Fall in the Adorandaks

Oh, I feel sooooooo bad for you Jeff. Next you're probably going to tell us you had a hard time picking which beach bunny blonde to rub oil on the sunburn. While we're putting on lotion for the windburn and chapped hands. LOL That reminds me, I still need to clean out the garage so the `Vette...

    Fall in the Adorandaks

Be careful there Ed. I would bet we have a little snow by then. Heck, I stored our blue `91 out in Taberg (outside of Rome) one year and had to wait until almost June before I could get it out of the guys barn. He still had a ton of snow infront of the doors. LOL Drive safe and enjoy the time...

    Fall in the Adorandaks

Yup, just think of those poor guys and gals out west in Denver last week. They got a ton of snow. Well, today's Saturday and the wife and I are going for a ride to see the leaves farther north of us, if any are still on the trees.Have a great weekend everyone. ;)

    Drove Neighbor's Car

Well, you may be right there. He knows how I feel. He'll take my truck, but not the Vette. I guess he doesn't want to see Dad cry if something happens. LOL Now the younger one is a whole `nother story. I think he' s just being rebellious. He says all Chevrolet's are junk. Man, he really knows...

    Fall in the Adorandaks

Yes, it's true. We don't get much of a driving season here. May to November. If the snow and salt are off the roads by May, we can bring them out. Halloween is the time we put them in storage. I may put 2 to 3,000 miles on the car a year, if I'm lucky. I do envy you people in the warmer...
