    Fog lite question

There is a torx screw adjuster on each lamp. Look at each lamp, at around the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock position you will see the opening to get to the torx screw. Have the lamps turned on and shining on your garage wall or door, you be able to see the beam change up/down. MAC

    Expensive oil change!

750 miles !! That oil didn't have a chance to get up to operating temperature. Was that a key board error and its really 7500 miles.

    corsa exhaust

Install the x-pipe at the same time, you won't regret it. The motor boat gurgle at idle will be gone, and the decel popping will be almost non-existent. The xpipes were not available when I had my Indy's installed, but when I installed the X-pipe the improvement was very noticiable. You won't...

    Trying to locate battery cover

Nice touch, but I'd be a reluctant to install one of these especially if its made of steel like the one described at the website. With a lot of the folks replacing there old side post lead acid and AGM Delco's with the Optima and Exides spriral cells, both come configured as top and side post...

    2004 c5 wheel cleaning problem

You can usually get most of the inner wheel with one of those soft bristle brushes with a longer handle. The rears are easier since the rim is larger. The caliper assembly will be in the way for some of the wheel, you can move the car to get into the area that the calipers blocked, or just...

    Awful whine

Sounds like a axle bearing. You say the whine increases (loudness) as mph increases. Does the whine constantly there during acceleration, cruising and deceleration? Usually if the whine changes pitch or decreases during accel, and decel, the rear end gears could be the problem. Still though...

    Black C5 which wax?

Meguiar's NXT works great. Its relatively new on the market, comes in a liquid. They also carry a NXT spray touch up, make sure you start out with the wax. Real easy to work with, and leaves no residue. Most of the auto supply shops carry it, Autozone, Pepboys, Advance, have seen it in some...

    Calibrating Tire Pressure Sensors??

That is correct, the relearn procedures just confirms that the reporting sensors are reporting and in correct sequence. I believe at least for the older sensors, 97-00, that the sequence is LF, RF, RR, LR.

    Calibrating Tire Pressure Sensors??

I'm not aware of any recalibration routine. The only routine you can do with the sensors is the "relearn", that reprograms the DIC to recognize each wheel in its correct sequence. I'd pitch the "inexpensive pencil tire gauge" and either borrow or buy a high quality digital or mechanical one...

    c5 headlight problem

Schmaltzr - thanks for the info. Just looked at my 98. I have had one of the assemblies completely changed out under warranty about 18 months ago. The replacement looks exactly like the one in the picture. The original motor assembly doesn't have the opening depicted in the photo. It has a metal...

    c5 headlight problem

Could you provide more details on this lubrication hole mentioned above. Perhaps a picture or better description. Also what type of lubricant. I'll have to check my service manuals later to see if its mentioned in there. thanks

    Winter storage questions

Those ramps will be fine, there built to handle around 12,000 lbs. if I recall whats stamped on mine. Sounds like a good idea to get it high enough just in case.

from 98 to 00 oem wheel swap

Just did the same with my 98, sensor are part of the valve stems. I replaced the "o" rings on the sensors just to make sure no slow leaks developed. You'd probably be ok without replacing them if the tire guy takes care in removing the old sensors. The rings are inexpensive and can be picked...

    air filters

The stock filter on the C5 has been the same, 97-04 model years. AC Delco part number A917C. The K&N filter used in any model year prior to yours will fit.

    Tire Pressure Sensors Mis-reading

Just remember that air pressure reading will be reduced as outside temperature changes. Good rule of thumb is for every drop of 10 degrees in outside temp, tire pressure will show a 1 pound drop, so if your setting them at 30 psi at 70 degrees avg temp. If the avg temp is now around 50 you'll...

    Getting Under Your C5

To raise the entire vehicle high enough to facilitate getting your floor jack under the car simply make the following: Use either 2 x 8's or 2 x 10's cut to a length of around 12-18 inches. Make four of these. Bevel one side to an angle of 45-60 degrees. Place one of these in front of...

    volume

My cars back in NC, but I'm almost positive there is a control to increase the volume w/speed or decrease it altogher. It may be an outer ring on the volume knob. Look in the owners manual it should have it there. MAC
