    Probably a stupid question, but...

Thanks Barry:) I'll be putting it through a frame off in another couple years, once I get some room. When that happens, I guess the wheel well area on all 4 corners will get a good cleaning and get stripped down to the fiberglass. I guess I'll just start cleaning early.

    Probably a stupid question, but...

Just wondering about the wheel wells on a mid-year. I was doing some brake work and saw some road grime, so I started scraping. Came down to bare fiberglass. They didn't have undercoating back then did they? And did I just scape stuff I wasn't supposed to? Or is it supposed to be just bare...

    jute carpet padding

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is jute padding? I've seen several references, but not sure exactly what it is? Thanks.

    '57 power top question

Looks like it was code 473 and they built 2,682 of them at an option cost of $139.90...

    Marriage of Body & Frame

Very nice...almost there. By the way, that is a nice body dolly you have...is that the one from Noland Adams or did you fabricate that yourself? Looks pretty secure.

    I'm Stupid - Wittek Clamp

Just waiting for the line clip bolts to come in and I'll be replacing it. Fuel is already drained. Back to the original topic though, do you think I'll be alright with the Wittek clamps they provided (Zip)? And when you say ring clamps, are you talking about the worm gear ones? Like the ones...

    What do you think?...:)

    I'm Stupid - Wittek Clamp

Hey John, it's a 63 and it's the ~15 inch rubber hose piece that connects the fuel sending unit to the main fuel line. And it's held on by two clamps.

80 Vettes up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

It seems as though Scottsdale always have more of an "atmosphere" than Palm Beach. I mean we'll probably see equal prices that we saw in Scottsdale, but PB just doesn't have the hype.

    I'm Stupid - Wittek Clamp

So you think it would be ok to use a new one? Unfortunately, like John said, Wittek went out of business. This is just a temporary fix on the fuel line until I start the frame off. Maybe it would be best to just use a worm gear clamp. I mean after all, it's not going for B Gold or TF awards...

    I'm Stupid - Wittek Clamp

Yes, now I am having seconds thought about using them on the fuel line. Maybe that's why there were worm type clamps on there in the first place.

    John Z Great Article!!!!!

No apologies necessary Bob. I just consider myself one of the younger ones who own a mid-year, so I thought because I had to ask twice, the second inquiry may have seemed impatient, which it wasn't meant to be, I just wanted to read the article. I found out through the other forum, it was...

    John Z Great Article!!!!!

I'm not sure I get this response...but I would be interested to know what model year you think I drive? Oh and also provide what month the article showed up in CE, that would great too...:)

Once again, what issue of Corvette Enthusiat is it? The latest one I have it May...didn't know June was released yet. Thanks.

As you tighten the screw...the square shaped section at the tip of the screw rises and it tightens. I got mine with the new flex fuel line and wondered how it worked too (you're not the only one).

    John Z Great Article!!!!!

I'm guessing you're talking about Corvette Enthusiat magazine? I didn't see an article...I'm looking in the May 2006 issue.

    Unabashedly showing off....

Definately not a beauty shot, but that's what hibernation is all about. It was so cold, that the top could not latch down in the back while the front hooks on the front of the top were latched...
