That pretty much sums up the CAC. Posts do not happen as rapid as other Corvette sites, but when you need an in depth technical detailed explanation, there is no other site like this one. That is why I am happy to support this group and not any of the others. :w
Sounds like a vibration? My question is: do you feel this vibration? If so, is the vibration in the steering wheel? the butt of your seat? in the pedals?
Also, is your Vette a Manual 6 (M6) or Automatic 6 (A6)?
First :w Welcome to the CAC
Secondly, since we live so close, you need to pick me up so we can go for a cruise ;LOL
Third, Check out the Model Center of the website. Or click here for a direct link to the 2009 production numbers.
Don't forget to wave at all Corvette's you see on the...
My family never named vehicles. It wasn't until I met my wife (back in high school) and her sister that I even knew people did that sort of thing. Well, we never named the 76 Stingray we had, but we had a name for the 73 almost immediately. Her name is Lola, because whatever Lola wants, Lola...
Well, can't say I'm too surprised. He has been liquidating his collection for a couple of years now. Last year, he sold most of his neon collectible signs that were inside his barns/storage facilities. I used to go down and look at Harley Earl's '63 and stare at it and study it for long...
When you say you can't get it to start, is the engine not even turning over?
The Mass Air Flow Sensor tells the engine how much air to bring into the intake, if it does not have that information, your engine can do a wide variety of things. If the engine is cold, it could idle high and then...
So what time are you getting into Columbus? Lunch? Dinner? Even if not for very long, I'd love to see this Corvette that is rolling its way across the states.
Maybe he is just referring to the pre catalytic converter Corvettes. As for the smog pumps, most of those are gone from these cars anyway, unless you look really hard. Ultimately, it is up to you to figure out what you are looking for. A show car? A driver? A weekend cruiser? If you don't...
Congrats on your new to you Corvette. Tell us a little about it. Color, options, and what your favorite part about the Corvette is.
Oh, and don't forget to :w
First, welcome to the Corvette Action Center. Take a quick moment to visit the new member section and introduce yourself.
Sorry I can't help as I have no experience with the wipers of the 68 - 72 models. However, it sounds like it might just be a simple vacuum leak. When you shut the car off...
Like others have said. Take your time in finding the right Corvette for you. There are lots of them out there. At this time, have you sat/ridden/ or driven any C3 Corvettes? Are there certain options you are looking for?
If at all possible, when you are serious about purchasing the one for...
You are correct Andy, that is the cowl induction. It does run off a motor and is supposed to open when you have the throttle at or near WOT. I do not know exactly how it scoops air back into the carb, but that is what it's supposed to do.
I also understand that it will let cool air move...
Well, I'm not sure I have an answer for you, but I'd like to help you keep this thread near the top so others might be able to see it and help you out.
Let me ask you about how the car sounded when it was stalling out on you. You mentioned when the car was starting to stall you could put the...
Thanks Yoda, already found it and already made the request as you suspected. Man you are good.
Hey, I also just noticed that I am just a "member". Last I knew, I thought I was still a "supporting member". Does this distinction no longer show up? Not a big deal, but even though I wasn't...
Greetings All,
I have been away from the CAC for some time now. Occasionally I have pulled the home page up, looked around for a couple of minutes, and then left. But I am happy to say, that I'll be back on a more permanent basis again. I owned a 1976 coupe about 5 years ago and have had the...
So I was able to attend the Good Guys car show this past weekend, so this 1963 SWC is not mine but thought it would be worth posting. If anyone recognizes this one, feel free to give the shout out. I truly enjoyed walking around this one, even in the rain. It was also one of the few shots you...
The good ole' smell of the Quadrajet. I would check around your carb first and keep your nose open. If you find nothing out of the ordinary, work your way back to the gas tank and just take a look. If you still don't find any leaks or drips or anything, hopefully someone else on here can help...
Answering your own questions so quickly... that's kind of scary. From reading your first post I was about to say it could be your brake switch. Should be an easy change out. Good luck.
